From on.(formerly LaunchPad for Rhino) enables CAD designers and engineers to safely share CAD models with others directly from Rhinoceros. Collaborators navigate to a URL in their browser to view and interact with a live stream of the CAD model. How does it work? A plug-in installed into your Rhino 6 captures the view of the 3D model and streams it into a browser (Enter 'cast' into the command line to start Spaces for Rhino). Sharing your model requires a account.

You can invite other users via a URL to your permanent meeting space (part of your PureWeb Spaces account) to view the model and interact with it. Communicate via built-in audio conferencing by clicking the microphone button (available in the browser and Spaces for Rhino plug-in dialog). The advantage of Spaces for Rhino is that you can stream your models instantly without the need to share the source files or the use of cloud storage solutions. You can share from an environment you are comfortable with and can make ad hoc changes to the model that will be immediately reflected for all collaborators viewing in the browser. A new version of the SectionTools plug-in for Rhino 6 for Windows is now available, with the following updates:. Fixed 'stCreate' command when loading vertical sections from a file. Fixed 'HatchPattern' option in 'stCreate' command. It used to be omitted in some cases (when no hatch patterns were loaded in the document).

Changed the 'Dir' option names in 'stCreate' command to use Horizontal, Vertical and Custom (instead of X-Axis, Y-Axis and Pick). Updated the manual and made the example model available to download.

Other minor bug fixes. Sparrow delivers a productivity boost by enhancing middle mouse button functionality and making 3D views manipulation more intuitive. It works as a standalone or inside other commands.Main enhancement modes: MMB Click: Instantly focus the view on the specific area of any object under the cursor MMB Hold: Intuitive view manipulation based on point under the cursor (pivot) Key Combos + MMB Click: Customizable macro or Sparrow-specific function assignments for quick access with Ctrl, Alt, Shift and other key combinations. Grasshopper is the visual programming environment which is now included in Rhinoceros 6. Grasshopper scripts are represented by visual elements that progressively develop across the Grasshopper canvas.

By creating visual Grasshopper scripts, designers explore and build their models from concept to fabrication. This workshop will introduce you to Grasshopper and take you to an intermediate level. It will provide you with a functional understanding of Grasshopper and parametric design. The workshop will cover:. Understanding the interface. Modeling geometry.

Data structures. The logic of using treesA detailed class outline is available.Notes:Basic working knowledge of Rhino 5 or 6 is required. Our Seattle classroom is outfitted with computers for each attendee to use during the training; laptops are not necessary.

From on.The closure system is a patented innovation taking advantage of the power of magnets. Instead of the normal attraction of magnets, the magnets are reversed and repel each other forcing the object to lock in place. Once the female and the male parts of the closure system are joined and locked, they can be released by applying force on the male part to unlock the system. The preliminary design concept served as the first step in the production process of the prototypes.

The analog sketches were transferred to the digital space and constructed precisely in 3D by using Rhinoceros. The first generation of prototypes in different variations was 3D printed based on the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) and manually assembled with efficient Neodymium magnets. Based on the result of the first generation prototypes, the 3D models were further optimized in material thickness and fabrication tolerances in Rhinoceros. The second generation of the improved prototypes was cast using the Lost-wax technique, which better reflected the precise feel of the final materials and appearance. The current third generation of the prototypes has been completely re-engineered, improved in functionality, and constructed to be produced entirely with CNC milling, which is focusing on mass production. Rhinoceros has been an integral part of the design and construction process which served as a direct output for the final fabrication process (sketch-construction-production).This simplicity of the functional design opens up a whole new line of closure systems, ranging from watches, jewelry, bags, helmets, and many more.

Formlabs is traveling to industry hubs across the world to celebrate the capabilities of 3D printing in digital manufacturing. This time they're bringing together local innovators to discuss how leveraging 3D printing is creating new business opportunities. The Formlabs Roadshow is hitting London on Wednesday, July 17th and Simply Rhino is pleased to announce that the will be hosting two events at the Goldsmith's Centre. This session is suitable for jewellers using all 3D CAD software options, including 3Design, Matrix, Rhino, and ZBrush. This session is suitable for engineering and design studios using SOLIDWORKS, Creo, Fusion 360, Onshape, NX, CATIA, Rhino, ZBrush, or other CAD tools.

2012 December 10-12 & 15 – 9:00-12:00 am CET / 9:00-12:00 am PSTLead instructor Giulio Piacentino – Assistant instructor Ilaria GiardielloThrough this 4-day introductory online class, we will explore the flexible and clear syntax of the new programming language of Rhinoceros 5.0 for Windows and Mac. Even without any previous programming knowledge you will be able to extend your Rhino and Grasshopper experience — learning how to script, automate and implement your design process. You will learn about variables, methods and functions and the potentials of iterative and recursive codes.DescriptionThe class is taught completely online in 4 sessions of 3 hours each. The course is scheduled at 9:00 to 12:00 am for Central European Time (CET) and at 9:00 to 12:00 for Pacific Standard Time (PST). Please indicate on your registration form the time at which you would like to join us.This class is suitable for scripting beginners: no previous scripting knowledge is required. You will be able to ask questions in the class through a live chat designed to give participants support on theory and exercises developed during the course.Registration The course is tutored by geometrydepth.com and organized by Piacentino Consulenze Snc.Detailed Rhino.Python 4-day introduction. With the forthcoming release of Rhino 5.0, RhinoScript will be moving to a new syntax: Python. The new, more intuitive interface for manipulating Rhino from the inside will give us the opportunity to quickly and easily create a wide variety of complex systems based on simple rules that are easily implemented with no prior programming experience.

We will introduce RhinoScript for absolute beginners, including the basics of programming techniques (variables, flow control, etc.) as well as the working knowledge of how Rhino represents geometrical objects such as points, curves, surfaces and even text. We will then move quickly into techniques for making minimal surfaces and other particle based geometries.

Students will produce a final project that will be an exploration of the formal consequences of complex systems. is a RhinoScript Workshop.

the window for Rhinoscript using Python at MIT. The most frequently used type of curve in architecture and most other fields of design is the circle. For our purposes, a circle may be regarded as a regular polygon with a sufficiently large number of sides to appear smooth. It is useful, then, to have a procedure that draws a regular polygon with any specified number of sides, of any specified radius, and centered at any specified point (X,Y) (Mitchell, 1987:261).
